Holiday Fun at Jim & Sally Fyffe's House!
May you all have an awesome 2010!
Jim Fyffe, our Club's Sgt-At-Arms recently organized a Speech-A-Thon to include THREE Clubs in Three DIVISIONS!  Several members met at the SAIC building in the Engineering Park near UCF to hear eight fantastic speeches and evaluation.  Thank you Jim for stepping out and becoming a great ambassador for our club!

Jim also hosted the Castaways first-ever Christmas Party at his house.   Libations were poured and home made treats were enjoyed by all as conversation and good cheer was enjoyed through the night.  Thank you Jim and Sally for being such delightful hosts!

Scott Hoehn, our Club's VP Membership has earned Toastmasters International's highest award, the Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) award... for the SECOND time!  Earning this honor requires the completion of over 40 speeches, sponsoring or mentoring a new club and serving the District as an officer.

"Serving the clubs of our District was by far the most rewarding experience I've had in my Toastmaster membership.  If anyone is interested, please contact me." Hoehn said.  Scott is currently serving as the District Governor for District 84's 4000 members.

Congratulations to President Nancy Humberson for completing the requirements for
the "Competent Leader" and Competent Communicator Awards!  Nancy not only moves forward to the Advanced speeches, but her award also goes toward our Distinguished Club goals.
On September 1st, 2009, we held our first-ever Humorous Speech and Evaluation Contest
in preparation for competition in the Area 56 contest!  How exciting!
